Health and Safety In The Workplace Level 2

Course aims 

Health and safety training is recommended for staff at all levels of an organisation. This stimulating and thought provoking programme explains how it should be managed in any working environment. It outlines the basic understanding of health and safety law.

Learning outcomes
  • An understanding of health and safety law, liability and enforcement and statutory duties

  •  An explanation of the principles of health and safety management •

  • A practical explanation of risk assessment and what constitutes a suitable and sufficient assessment

  •  Introduction to key elements of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999

  •  Understanding of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992

Risk Assessments

Course aims

This qualification is aimed at those looking to support the undertaking of workplace risk assessment. It is a qualification that indicates an individual can undertake a specific role in the workplace and that may be relied upon by employers.

Learning outcomes

Recognise how risk assessment can contribute to a safer work environment

 

  •  Examination of the principles of a workplace risk assessment

  • Outline how workplace health and safety legislation is enforced

  • Understand the penalties for non-compliance

  • Outline the requirements for recording, monitoring, reviewing and revising workplace risk assessments

Fire Safety for Fire Marshall Level 2

Course aims 

This qualification is intended for those that are undertaking the role of a fire marshal in a workplace. This qualification is available to those over 14 years old, however employers should ensure that fire marshals are suitable to undertake the role.

Learning outcomes
  • Fully understand the role of Fire Marshals

  • Recognise risk

  •  Understand safe evacuation • Develop Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEP)

  •  Significantly increased fire awareness at work

ASBESTOS AWARENESS

Course aims 

Delegates will learn about the risks and how to minimise such risk when working in and around asbestos. They will gain a better understanding of the survey process and the essential safe work practices required.

  • The properties of asbestos and its effects on health •

  • The products and materials likely to contain asbestos

  • Preventative controls that can be used to minimise exposure

  •  Employers responsibilities

COSHH
(CONTROL OF SUBSTANCES HAZARDOUS TO HEALTH)

Course aims

This short 4 hour course is for all employees and helps them understand the Employer and Employee Duties and aid in the identification of Hazards and Risks.  Training is delivered through various methods.

IOSH MANAGING SAFELY COURSE

Course aims 

This 4-day accredited course will provide the skills necessary for staff with responsibility for the management of people and facilities. They will be equipped to ensure safe working practices are undertaken.

Learning outcomes
  • Understanding responsibilities of both the Employer & the Employee

  •  Knowledge to assess risks within the workplace

  • Learning how to control risks through various controls

  •  Identifying hazards - what are the common hazards and what can you do about them?

ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION – RIDDOR

Course aims 

This training session aimed at all employees will help staff understand their responsibilities and duties as well as those of their employer in the case of accident investigation.

Learning outcomes
  • Understanding the employees duties

  •  Determining what the RIDDOR Act means

  • Establishing how industry measures accidents and incidents

  •  Examine accident causation
